Funicular Railway to Montjuïc Mountain
If you want to get up to the
Montjuïc Mountain for a bird’s eye view of Barcelona, the
Montjuïc Funicular Railway is the easiest way to do so!
A ticket costs the same as a single journey ticket by
bus or
metro. If you have a multi-use ticket
T-10, you can also use it here! Tickets may be purchased inside Paral-lel Metro Station.
Price for a Single Ticket = 2,15 €
Price for a T-10 ticket = 10,30 €
Children under 4 travel free on Barcelona Funicular Railway to Montjuïc Mountain
as well as on buses, metro, FGC trains and trams.
The Funicular Railway to Montjuïc can be accessed at Paral-lel
metro station which is on L2 and L3.

The Funicular Railway to Montjuïc was built in 1928 and underwent a significant overhaul in 1992 due to the celebration of the Olympic Games in Barcelona.
The Funicular Railway to Montjuïc is the most time-efficient method of reaching the
Montjuïc Mountain but if you prefer the scenic route and a lovely walk, you should head to Plaça Espanya using the
metro and walk up from there.
It takes around ten minutes to get up the hill, yet a lot of it is serviced by outdoor escalators. Just head for the beautiful Palau Nacional (National Palace).
